The Quagga BGP daemon (bgpd) prior to version 1.2.3 does not properly bounds check the data sent with a NOTIFY to a peer, if an attribute length is invalid. Arbitrary data from the bgpd process may be sent over the network to a peer and/or bgpd may crash.

The Quagga BGP daemon (bgpd) contains a bounds check vulnerability in its NOTIFY message handling. When bgpd detects an invalid attribute length from a peer, it fails to properly bounds-check the data before sending a NOTIFY message back to the peer. This allows reading arbitrary memory from the bgpd process (information disclosure) and can cause bgpd to crash (Denial of Service).
