Official description Straight from the sourceThe vendor's or NVD's own wording, published unedited. Authoritative, but often terse — it says what broke, rarely what to do.

NVD · unedited
In CODESYS V2 Runtime Toolkit 32 Bit full and PLCWinNT prior to versions V2.4.7.56 unauthenticated crafted invalid requests may result in several denial-of-service conditions. Running PLC programs may be stopped, memory may be leaked, or further communication clients may be blocked from accessing the PLC.

Technical summary Written by usOur analysis, written from the advisory, the CVSS vector and the affected-version data. It adds context the advisory leaves out, and never invents facts that are not in the source.

CODESYS V2 Runtime Toolkit V2.4.7.56 or later (or 750 series controller firmware fw20 or later)

  1. Identify the specific CODESYS V2 Runtime Toolkit product in use (750 series controller with firmware 8202, 8203, 8204, 8206, 8207, 8208, 8210, or 8211, or PLCWinNT)
  2. Obtain the firmware update to version fw20 or later from the device manufacturer (WAGO, in this case, based on the 750 series product line)
  3. Alternatively, obtain CODESYS V2 Runtime Toolkit 32 Bit full or PLCWinNT version V2.4.7.56 or later from Codesys
  4. Apply the firmware update to the controller following the manufacturer's documented upgrade procedure
  5. Verify that the runtime toolkit version is now at V2.4.7.56 or later
  6. Test that PLC programs run normally and that communication clients can access the PLC without issues
Caveat Upgrading PLC firmware may require validation of existing PLC programs for compatibility; test in a non-production environment first
