- 1. Identify all virtual servers using BIG-IP APM access policies in your configuration
- 2. Schedule a maintenance window as the upgrade will require service interruption
- 3. Create a UCS (UCS archive) or SCF (Small Configuration File) backup of the current configuration
- 4. Download the appropriate hotfix or base version for your release: 16.1.3.1 or later for 16.1.x, 15.1.6.1 or later for 15.1.x, 14.1.5.1 or later for 14.1.x
- 5. Upload the ISO/image to the BIG-IP system
- 6. Install the upgrade via WebUI (Traffic Management Operating System > ISO Image > Install) or via tmsh: 'install sys software volume <volume-name>','7. Reboot the system to boot into the new volume
- 8. After reboot, verify the TMM processes are running and the virtual servers are accessible
- 9. Confirm the APM access policies are functioning correctly
