Official description Straight from the sourceThe vendor's or NVD's own wording, published unedited. Authoritative, but often terse — it says what broke, rarely what to do.

NVD · unedited
Cal.com (repository calcom/cal.diy) in versions <= 4.7.15 is vulnerable to cross-site scripting (XSS) on the publicly accessible single booking view (e.g., /booking/<id>). Booking question (form field) labels are rendered via React's dangerouslySetInnerHTML without proper input sanitization or CSP, so an attacker who can create an event type with a malicious booking question label can inject arbitrary HTML/JavaScript that executes when a victim visits the booking view URL. Self-hosted instances with open registration are particularly at risk. The issue is fixed in version 4.7.16.

Technical summary Written by usOur analysis, written from the advisory, the CVSS vector and the affected-version data. It adds context the advisory leaves out, and never invents facts that are not in the source.

dbcve analysis · low confidence
Developing — this CVE was published recently and its authoritative NVD entry is still being established, so we're holding a technical summary until the source data settles rather than publish something unreliable. Re-checking after 2026-08-06.

Recommended fix High confidence

4.7.16

  1. 1. Identify the current Cal.com version by checking package.json or the running container image tag
  2. 2. If running <= 4.7.15, plan an upgrade to version 4.7.16
  3. 3. For Docker-based deployments: Update the image tag in docker-compose.yml or your container registry to calcom/cal.com:v4.7.16
  4. 4. For npm-based deployments: Run 'npm install @calcom/[email protected]' or update package.json to use version 4.7.16 and run 'npm install'
  5. 5. After upgrading, verify the booking question labels are now properly sanitized before deploying to production
  6. 6. Test the /booking/<id> endpoint with a sample booking to confirm the fix works
