CVE-2026-11922
Official description Straight from the sourceThe vendor's or NVD's own wording, published unedited. Authoritative, but often terse — it says what broke, rarely what to do.
NVD · uneditedA vulnerability in zenml-io/zenml versions 0.57.0 through 0.94.2 allows an attacker to bypass rate-limiting on the `POST /api/v1/login` and self password-change endpoints by rotating the `X-Forwarded-For` header. The rate limiter keys requests by `request.client.host`, which is derived from the `X-Forwarded-For` header when Uvicorn is launched with `--proxy-headers --forwarded-allow-ips *`. This configuration allows clients to control the value of `request.client.host`, effectively bypassing rate-limiting protections. This vulnerability leaves the affected endpoints open to unthrottled credential guessing attacks.
Technical summary Written by usOur analysis, written from the advisory, the CVSS vector and the affected-version data. It adds context the advisory leaves out, and never invents facts that are not in the source.
dbcve analysis · low confidenceCVSS breakdown How the score is builtThe industry scoring standard. It rates how the flaw is reached, what it takes to exploit, and what an attacker gains — the score is derived from those, not the other way round.

Remediation Closing itWhat it takes to close this. Where a vendor fix exists we point at it; where none exists we say so plainly, and can build one. Effort estimates are scoped from the advisory, not from your codebase.
dbcve · scopedUpgrade to the latest zenml release (version > 0.94.2)
- 1. Identify the current zenml version installed by running: pip show zenml or zenml version
- 2. Upgrade zenml to the latest stable release: pip install --upgrade zenml
- 3. If deploying with Uvicorn, review the --forwarded-allow-ips configuration and restrict it to known trusted proxies instead of using '*'
- 4. After upgrade, verify that rate limiting is enforced on the login endpoint by attempting multiple login attempts

The advisory tells you what broke. It rarely tells you what actually worked. If you’ve dealt with this one, that detail is what the next engineer is searching for.
- The version that genuinely resolved it — not the one the vendor claimed
- A config change or rule that shut the vector down
- A gotcha in the upgrade path that cost you an afternoon
