CVE-2026-42300
Official description Straight from the sourceThe vendor's or NVD's own wording, published unedited. Authoritative, but often terse — it says what broke, rarely what to do.
NVD · uneditedDevGuard provides vulnerability management for the full software supply chain. Prior to 1.2.2, the SessionMiddleware accepts a client-supplied X-Admin-Token HTTP request header and uses its raw string value as the authenticated userID when no Kratos session cookie is present. An unauthenticated attacker who knows or can guess a target user's Kratos identity UUID can issue requests as that user. Where the target user is an organisation admin or owner, this gives the attacker full control over that organisation's DevGuard resources. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.2.2.
Technical summary Written by usOur analysis, written from the advisory, the CVSS vector and the affected-version data. It adds context the advisory leaves out, and never invents facts that are not in the source.
dbcve analysisA detailed technical summary for this CVE is being prepared.
CVSS breakdown How the score is builtThe industry scoring standard. It rates how the flaw is reached, what it takes to exploit, and what an attacker gains — the score is derived from those, not the other way round.

Remediation Closing itWhat it takes to close this. Where a vendor fix exists we point at it; where none exists we say so plainly, and can build one. Effort estimates are scoped from the advisory, not from your codebase.
dbcve · scoped1.2.2
- Check current DevGuard version (e.g., using `devguard --version` or checking the running container tag)
- Stop the running DevGuard instance
- Update to version 1.2.2 or later by pulling the new container image or binary
- Restart the DevGuard service with the updated version
- Verify the fix by confirming X-Admin-Token header is no longer trusted without a valid Kratos session cookie
- Test that legitimate authentication flow (with Kratos session) works correctly

The advisory tells you what broke. It rarely tells you what actually worked. If you’ve dealt with this one, that detail is what the next engineer is searching for.
- The version that genuinely resolved it — not the one the vendor claimed
- A config change or rule that shut the vector down
- A gotcha in the upgrade path that cost you an afternoon
