CVE-2026-54364
Official description Straight from the sourceThe vendor's or NVD's own wording, published unedited. Authoritative, but often terse — it says what broke, rarely what to do.
NVD · uneditedCentreStack before 17.4 contains a session variable injection vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary session variables by embedding newline and tab characters into a crafted AccountName parameter posted to the SelectProvider.aspx endpoint. Attackers can exploit the lack of input sanitization in the custom session serialization format to inject a resellerid session variable, bypassing the IsValidRSession authentication check and gaining unauthorized access to management pages.
Technical summary Written by usOur analysis, written from the advisory, the CVSS vector and the affected-version data. It adds context the advisory leaves out, and never invents facts that are not in the source.
dbcve analysisA detailed technical summary for this CVE is being prepared.
CVSS breakdown How the score is builtThe industry scoring standard. It rates how the flaw is reached, what it takes to exploit, and what an attacker gains — the score is derived from those, not the other way round.

Remediation Closing itWhat it takes to close this. Where a vendor fix exists we point at it; where none exists we say so plainly, and can build one. Effort estimates are scoped from the advisory, not from your codebase.
dbcve · scopedCentreStack 17.4 or later
- 1. Verify current CentreStack installation version through the administrative console or system information.
- 2. Download CentreStack version 17.4 or later from the official CentreStack download portal.
- 3. Back up the current CentreStack database and configuration files before proceeding.
- 4. Stop the CentreStack services to ensure a clean upgrade process.
- 5. Install the CentreStack 17.4+ version following the standard upgrade procedure documented in the CentreStack installation guide.
- 6. After installation, restart CentreStack services and verify the application is functioning correctly.
- 7. Confirm the SelectProvider.aspx endpoint now properly sanitizes AccountName parameters by testing with newline/tab character injection attempts.

The advisory tells you what broke. It rarely tells you what actually worked. If you’ve dealt with this one, that detail is what the next engineer is searching for.
- The version that genuinely resolved it — not the one the vendor claimed
- A config change or rule that shut the vector down
- A gotcha in the upgrade path that cost you an afternoon
