CVE-2026-73564
Official description Straight from the sourceThe vendor's or NVD's own wording, published unedited. Authoritative, but often terse — it says what broke, rarely what to do.
NVD · uneditedfrp is a fast reverse proxy. From 0.53.0 until 0.70.1, frp's optional SSH Tunnel Gateway in pkg/ssh/server.go parses an SSH exec channel request by adding 4 to an attacker-controlled four-byte big-endian length. A length of 0xFFFFFFFF makes the uint32 addition wrap to 3, defeats the payload bounds check, and causes payload[4:3] to panic in TunnelServer.handleNewChannel. When no authorized-keys file is configured, sshConfig.NoClientAuth permits an unauthenticated peer to reach this channel phase before the frp token is checked, so a single five-byte request terminates the frps process and drops every active tunnel. This issue is fixed in version 0.70.1.
Technical summary Written by usOur analysis, written from the advisory, the CVSS vector and the affected-version data. It adds context the advisory leaves out, and never invents facts that are not in the source.

CVSS breakdown How the score is builtThe industry scoring standard. It rates how the flaw is reached, what it takes to exploit, and what an attacker gains — the score is derived from those, not the other way round.

Remediation Closing itWhat it takes to close this. Where a vendor fix exists we point at it; where none exists we say so plainly, and can build one. Effort estimates are scoped from the advisory, not from your codebase.
dbcve · scoped0.70.1
- Identify the current frp version by running `frps --version` or checking the package manager
- Stop the frps service to prevent downtime during upgrade
- Download frp version 0.70.1 or later from the official releases (e.g., `wget https://github.com/fatedier/frp/releases/download/v0.70.1/frp_0.70.1_linux_amd64.tar.gz`)
- Extract the archive and replace the existing frps binary with the new version
- Restart the frps service
- Verify the fix by confirming frps runs without crashing on a malformed SSH channel request and check the version with `frps --version`
- As a security best practice, configure an authorized-keys file to prevent unauthenticated access to the SSH tunnel gateway

The advisory tells you what broke. It rarely tells you what actually worked. If you’ve dealt with this one, that detail is what the next engineer is searching for.
- The version that genuinely resolved it — not the one the vendor claimed
- A config change or rule that shut the vector down
- A gotcha in the upgrade path that cost you an afternoon
