Official description Straight from the sourceThe vendor's or NVD's own wording, published unedited. Authoritative, but often terse — it says what broke, rarely what to do.

NVD · unedited
Memory safety bugs present in Firefox ESR 115.35.1, Firefox ESR 140.10.1 and Firefox 150.0.1. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 150.0.2, Firefox ESR 140.10.2, Firefox ESR 115.35.2, Thunderbird 150.0.2, and Thunderbird 140.10.2.

Technical summary Written by usOur analysis, written from the advisory, the CVSS vector and the affected-version data. It adds context the advisory leaves out, and never invents facts that are not in the source.

dbcve analysis · high confidence

Memory safety bugs in Firefox ESR 115.35.1, Firefox ESR 140.10.1, Firefox 150.0.1, and corresponding Thunderbird versions allowed memory corruption that could potentially be exploited for arbitrary code execution.

Am I affected? How to checkSteps we derive from the advisory and the affected-version data, so you can decide whether this CVE reaches your setup. They are a guide, not a scan — your own configuration is the authority.

dbcve checks

Work through these to decide whether this CVE applies to you.

  1. Check if Firefox is installed
Run 'firefox --version' in command line, or check Help > About Firefox in the application, or check registry on Windows at HKLM\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\Mozilla Firefox\CurrentVersion
Affected if Firefox is installed and its version is below 115.35.2, OR between 140.0 and 140.10.2, OR between 150.0 and 150.0.2
  2. Check if Thunderbird is installed
Run 'thunderbird --version' in command line, or check Help > About Thunderbird in the application, or check registry on Windows at HKLM\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\Mozilla Thunderbird\CurrentVersion
Affected if Thunderbird is installed and its version is between 140.0 and 140.10.2, OR between 150.0 and 150.0.2
  3. Verify browser content handling
Confirm that Firefox is used for browsing untrusted or external websites, or that Thunderbird has HTML email rendering enabled
Affected if The application regularly processes untrusted web content through browsing or email rendering features

You are affected if you have Firefox version 115.35.2 or lower, or any version from 140.0 to 140.10.2, or any version from 150.0 to 150.0.2; or Thunderbird version 140.0 to 140.10.2, or 150.0 to 150.0.2, and these applications handle untrusted web content.
