Official description Straight from the sourceThe vendor's or NVD's own wording, published unedited. Authoritative, but often terse — it says what broke, rarely what to do.

NVD · unedited
A missing authentication vulnerability exists in the Altium 365 SearchService. A legacy SOAP endpoint exposes search index operations without requiring authentication, session tokens, or any form of identity verification. An unauthenticated network attacker who can reference a target workspace's identifier can interact with that workspace's search index, crossing tenant boundaries. Successful exploitation allows reading a workspace's indexed contents (such as component data, project and folder names, and user metadata) and injecting, modifying, or deleting search index entries. These operations affect the search index only, not the underlying vault data, but they can disclose sensitive workspace information and compromise the integrity and availability of search results. Altium 365 cloud deployments are affected; on-premise Altium Enterprise Server is not affected.

Technical summary Written by usOur analysis, written from the advisory, the CVSS vector and the affected-version data. It adds context the advisory leaves out, and never invents facts that are not in the source.

dbcve analysis · high confidence

A legacy SOAP endpoint in Altium 365 SearchService lacks authentication controls, allowing unauthenticated network attackers to interact with workspace search indexes by referencing workspace identifiers. Attackers can cross tenant boundaries to read indexed content (component data, project/folder names, user metadata) and inject, modify, or delete search index entries, compromising confidentiality and integrity of search results.

MitigationDisable or remove the unauthenticated legacy SOAP endpoint, or implement proper authentication and authorization controls on the SearchService to prevent cross-tenant access.

Am I affected? How to checkSteps we derive from the advisory and the affected-version data, so you can decide whether this CVE reaches your setup. They are a guide, not a scan — your own configuration is the authority.

dbcve checks

Work through these to decide whether this CVE applies to you.

  1. Confirm Altium 365 installation
Locate the Altium 365 client or server installation and note the installed version number by checking the application properties, installed programs list, or server configuration files.
Affected if Altium 365 version is running and the legacy SOAP SearchService endpoint is enabled.
  2. Identify SOAP SearchService endpoint exposure
Review web server configuration, IIS settings, or reverse proxy rules for mappings to the legacy SOAP SearchService endpoint (typically paths containing '/SearchService.asmx' or similar SOAP endpoints).
Affected if The legacy SOAP SearchService endpoint is exposed and reachable over the network.
  3. Test endpoint authentication requirement
Send a raw HTTP POST request to the SearchService endpoint without including any authentication headers, session tokens, or cookies. Observe the HTTP response status and content.
Affected if The endpoint returns successful response (2xx) or exposes data without requiring authentication credentials.
  4. Verify tenant isolation on endpoint
Submit a search request using a workspace identifier from a different tenant context and check if the operation succeeds or returns data belonging to another tenant.
Affected if The endpoint allows access to or modification of search index entries for tenants other than the authenticated context.

The environment is affected if Altium 365 is running with the legacy SOAP SearchService endpoint exposed and accessible without authentication or tenant isolation checks.
