  1. 1. Determine the current QuickTime version installed by opening QuickTime Player and selecting QuickTime Player > About QuickTime Player (Mac) or Help > About QuickTime Player (Windows)
  2. 2. For Mac OS X 10.3.9, 10.4.10, or 10.5: Download and install QuickTime 7.3 or later from Apple's support site
  3. 3. For Windows XP or Vista: Download and install QuickTime 7.3 or later from Apple's support site
  4. 4. Alternatively, for Windows systems, consider uninstalling QuickTime entirely as Apple ended support for QuickTime on Windows in 2016. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Uninstall QuickTime
