Official description Straight from the sourceThe vendor's or NVD's own wording, published unedited. Authoritative, but often terse — it says what broke, rarely what to do.

NVD · unedited
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: powerpc/fixmap: Fix VM debug warning on unmap Unmapping a fixmap entry is done by calling __set_fixmap() with FIXMAP_PAGE_CLEAR as flags. Today, powerpc __set_fixmap() calls map_kernel_page(). map_kernel_page() is not happy when called a second time for the same page. Technical summary Written by usOur analysis, written from the advisory, the CVSS vector and the affected-version data. It adds context the advisory leaves out, and never invents facts that are not in the source.

Vendor patch git.kernel.org →
Recommended fix High confidence

Upgrade to Linux kernel >= 5.10.101 (for 5.10.y), >= 5.15.24 (for 5.15.y), >= 5.16.10 (for 5.16.y), or >= 5.18 (for 5.17.y and later)

  1. Identify the current running kernel version using `uname -r`
  2. Check if your distribution provides a kernel upgrade package (e.g., `apt-get dist-upgrade`, `yum update`, or distribution-specific kernel package)
  3. Upgrade the kernel to a fixed version: 5.10.101 or later, 5.15.24 or later, 5.16.10 or later, or 5.18 or later
  4. Reboot the system to load the new kernel
  5. Verify the fix is applied by checking the kernel version and confirming the `unmap_kernel_page()` function exists in the source
Caveat Kernel upgrades may require rebuilding out-of-tree kernel modules; ensure compatibility with system hardware and existing configurations before upgrading
