Recommended fix High confidence

Linux Kernel 5.19.9 or later (or latest stable 6.x branch)

  1. Identify all systems running Linux Kernel versions >= 5.19 and < 5.19.9 using 'uname -r' or 'cat /proc/version'
  2. Schedule a maintenance window for kernel upgrade (requires system reboot)
  3. Upgrade the Linux kernel to version 5.19.9 or later. For most distributions, this can be done via: 'sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install linux-image-5.19.9' (Debian/Ubuntu), 'sudo yum update kernel' (RHEL/CentOS), or by compiling from source from kernel.org
  4. After upgrade, reboot the system to load the new kernel: 'sudo reboot'
  5. Verify the fix is applied by running 'uname -r' and confirming the kernel version is 5.19.9 or higher
  6. Test RDMA functionality to confirm ib_drain_sq no longer hangs
Caveat Kernel upgrade requires system reboot and may affect custom kernel modules or proprietary drivers; ensure compatibility with existing applications before deploying
