CVE-2022-50062
Official description Straight from the sourceThe vendor's or NVD's own wording, published unedited. Authoritative, but often terse — it says what broke, rarely what to do.

If there is an RX interrupt between setting ring->end and netdev_sent_queue() we can hit the BUG_ON as bgmac_dma_tx_free() can miscalculate the queue size while called from bgmac_poll(). The machine which triggered the BUG runs a v4.14 RT kernel - but the issue seems present in mainline too.
Technical summary Written by usOur analysis, written from the advisory, the CVSS vector and the affected-version data. It adds context the advisory leaves out, and never invents facts that are not in the source.
dbcve analysisAttacker-controllable input can reach an assertion that aborts the process when it fails, so a check meant for debugging becomes a denial-of-service in production. A single crafted request takes the service down. The fix is to handle unexpected input gracefully on reachable paths rather than asserting on it.

Remediation Closing itWhat it takes to close this. Where a vendor fix exists we point at it; where none exists we say so plainly, and can build one. Effort estimates are scoped from the advisory, not from your codebase.
dbcve · scoped5.4.2115.10.1385.15.63
Upgrade to kernel version 5.4.211+ (if on 5.4 branch), 5.10.138+ (if on 5.10 branch), 5.15.63+ (if on 5.15 branch), or 5.19.4+ (if on 5.16+ branch)
- Identify the currently running kernel version using 'uname -r' or 'cat /proc/version'
- Determine which kernel release branch your version belongs to (e.g., 5.4.x, 5.10.x, 5.15.x, or 5.16.x-5.18.x)
- For systems on 5.4.x branch: upgrade to kernel version 5.4.211 or later
- For systems on 5.10.x branch: upgrade to kernel version 5.10.138 or later
- For systems on 5.15.x branch: upgrade to kernel version 5.15.63 or later
- For systems on 5.16.x through 5.18.x branch: upgrade to kernel version 5.19.4 or later
- After kernel upgrade, reboot the system to apply the fixed kernel

The advisory tells you what broke. It rarely tells you what actually worked. If you’ve dealt with this one, that detail is what the next engineer is searching for.
- The version that genuinely resolved it — not the one the vendor claimed
- A config change or rule that shut the vector down
- A gotcha in the upgrade path that cost you an afternoon
