Official description Straight from the sourceThe vendor's or NVD's own wording, published unedited. Authoritative, but often terse — it says what broke, rarely what to do.

NVD · unedited
A vulnerability, found in EdgeRouters Version 2.0.9-hotfix.5 and earlier and UniFi Security Gateways (USG) Version 4.4.56 and earlier with their DHCPv6 prefix delegation set to dhcpv6-stateless or dhcpv6-stateful, allows a malicious actor directly connected to the WAN interface of an affected device to create a remote code execution vulnerability.

Technical summary Written by usOur analysis, written from the advisory, the CVSS vector and the affected-version data. It adds context the advisory leaves out, and never invents facts that are not in the source.

USG/USG Pro 4: firmware 4.4.57 | EdgeRouter models: firmware 2.0.9

  1. Download the firmware update from the official UniFi community release page at https://community.ui.com/releases/Security-Advisory-Bulletin-028-028/696e4e3b-718c-4da4-9a21-965a85633b5f
  2. For UniFi Security Gateway (USG/USG Pro 4), upgrade to firmware version 4.4.57 or later
  3. For EdgeRouter models (ER-4, ER-6P, ER-8, ER-10X, ER-12, ER-12P), upgrade to firmware version 2.0.9 or later
  4. After upgrading, verify the DHCPv6 prefix delegation settings in the web UI under the WAN interface configuration to confirm the fix is applied
  5. If upgrading is not immediately possible, disable DHCPv6 prefix delegation (dhcpv6-stateless and dhcpv6-stateful modes) on the WAN interface as a temporary mitigation until the firmware update can be applied
