- 1. Identify the current FortiOS version running on the affected FortiGate device using the CLI command: get system status
- 2. Determine the appropriate upgrade path based on the current version (6.4.x -> 6.4.16+, 7.0.x -> 7.0.16+, 7.2.x -> 7.2.10+, 7.4.x -> 7.4.5+)
