Official description Straight from the sourceThe vendor's or NVD's own wording, published unedited. Authoritative, but often terse — it says what broke, rarely what to do.

NVD · unedited
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: IB/core: Fix ib_cache_setup_one error flow cleanup When ib_cache_update return an error, we exit ib_cache_setup_one instantly with no proper cleanup, even though before this we had already successfully done gid_table_setup_one, that results in the kernel WARN below. Do proper cleanup using gid_table_cleanup_one before returning the err in order to fix the issue. Technical summary Written by usOur analysis, written from the advisory, the CVSS vector and the affected-version data. It adds context the advisory leaves out, and never invents facts that are not in the source.

Recommended fix High confidence

Linux kernel 5.15.168, 6.1.113, 6.6.54, or 6.10.13 (or later) depending on the major version branch

  1. Identify the current running kernel version using `uname -r`
  2. Determine which version range the current kernel falls into: >= 5.4.42, < 5.15.168; >= 5.16, < 6.1.113; >= 6.2, < 6.6.54; or >= 6.7, < 6.10.13
  3. Upgrade to a fixed kernel release: 5.15.168+, 6.1.113+, 6.6.54+, or 6.10+ depending on which major version branch you are on
  4. Reboot the system to load the patched kernel
  5. Verify the fix is applied by checking the kernel version and confirming the patched commit (1403c8b14765eab805377dd3b75e96ace8747aed) is included
Caveat Kernel upgrades may require rebooting and could have compatibility implications with user-space tools; ensure dependent IB/rxe drivers and utilities are compatible with the new kernel version
