  1. Set the JWT_SECRET_KEY environment variable to a cryptographically strong, unique value before starting the Open5GS WebUI service
  2. For systemd-based systems, create or edit /etc/systemd/system/open5gs-webui.service.d/override.conf and add: [Service] Environment="JWT_SECRET_KEY=<your-secure-random-string>"
  3. Alternatively, set the environment variable in the shell profile or init script: export JWT_SECRET_KEY="<your-secure-random-string>"
  4. Generate a secure random string using a tool like: openssl rand -base64 32
  5. Restart the Open5GS WebUI service to apply the change: sudo systemctl restart open5gs-webui
Caveat After changing JWT_SECRET_KEY, any existing user sessions will be invalidated and users will need to log in again
